Classic international art

During the 19th century, art shifted somewhat in character vis a vis the past. A growing bourgeoisie sought art to decorate their homes, and this lead to a blooming art market with different art schools, movements and styles. Thus, there are many high quality artworks from this period.

As an international marketplace for Classic International art; foreign 19th and 20th century paintings, Uppsala Auktionskammare has over the years proven to be very successful. This has been demonstrated by selling works by artists such as Edvard Munch, Pierre Auguste Renoir and Theodore Wores among others.

Our Important sales provides a marketplace at an international level with a stable customer base, both for Swedish and international art.

Older unsigned sculptures that are decorative can also reach high values and are often in demand internationally. Most expensive at auctions are sculptures in bronze and marble.

Uppsala Auktionskammare had over the years reached high prices of sculptures by Auguste Rodin and several Russian sculptors.

The demand for decorative and high-class sculptures has over the last decade increased significantly and the art form is today popular for art collectors and interior designers worldwide.
