Discover important old masters and classic art, sculpture and prints in this season’s catalogue. The obvious highlights of the auction are Bruno Liljefors’ masterpiece “Katt och sädesärla” from 1893, Eugène Jansson’s atmospheric ”Månskensnatt i februari”, a magnificent trompe l’oeil with a Stockholm scene by 17th-century master Govert D. Camphuysen, Sébastien Bourdon’s significant portrait of Queen Christina, and Prince Eugen’s magical work with Poplars. From the 17th century onward, notable works by masters such as Gerard Dou, Johan Johnsen, Anders Zorn, Carl Fredrik Hill, John Bauer, Carl Larsson, Fanny Brate, and Wilhelm Kuhnert are also represented. Don’t miss Christian Berg’s modernist masterpiece ”Komposition för observatorium”, painted 1928 in Paris and exhibited at the 1930 Stockholm Exhibition.
